15. மனுஷனுக்கு அவைகள் அடுப்புக்காகும்போது, அவன் அவைகளில் எடுத்துக் குளிர்காய்கிறான்; நெருப்பை மூட்டி அப்பமும் சுடுகிறான்; அதினால் ஒரு தெய்வத்தையும் உண்டுபண்ணி, அதைப் பணிந்துகொள்ளுகிறான்; ஒரு விக்கிரகத்தையும் அதினால் செய்து, அதை வணங்குகிறான்.

15. பிறகு, அந்த மனிதன் எரிப்பதற்காக அந்த மரங்களை வெட்டுகிறான். அவன் அந்த மரத்தைச் சிறு சிறு துண்டுகளாக வெட்டுகிறான். அவன் அதனைச் சமைக்கவும், வெப்பப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளவும் பயன்படுத்திக்கொள்கிறான். அவன் சில மரத் துண்டுகளை எரித்து தனக்காக அப்பத்தைச் சுடுகிறான். ஆனால், அவன் சில துண்டுகளில் தெய்வத்தின் சிலை செய்து அதனைத் தொழுதுகொள்கிறான். அந்தத் தெய்வம் மனிதனால் செய்யப்பட்ட ஒரு சிலையாகும். ஆனால், அந்த சிலைகளுக்கு முன்னால் பணிந்து வணங்குகிறான்.

15. When the man wanted a fire, he took some of the wood to keep him warm. He also used some of it to bake his bread. But then he used that same wood to make a statue to worship as a god! That god is only a statue that he made, but he bows down to it!
