13. அப்போது கிதியோன், "கர்த்தர் எங்களோடிருந்தால் எங்களுக்கு ஏன் இத்தனைத் துன்பங்கள் நேருகின்றன? எங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு அவர் அற்புதமானக் காரியங்களைச் செய்தார் என்று நாங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டோம். கர்த்தர், தங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து அழைத்து வந்ததாக எங்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் கூறினார்கள். ஆனால் கர்த்தர் எங்களை விட்டுப் பிரிந்துவிட்டார். மீதியானியர் எங்களைத் தோற்கடிப்பதற்குக் கர்த்தர் அனுமதித்தார்" என்றான்.
