9:2. அவனுக்குச் சவுல் என்னும் பேருள்ள சவுந்தரியமான வாலிபனாகிய ஒரு குமாரன் இருந்தான்; இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரில் அவனைப்பார்க்கிலும் சவுந்தரியவான் இல்லை; எல்லா ஜனங்களும் அவன் தோளுக்குக் கீழாயிருக்கத்தக்க உயரமுள்ளவனாயிருந்தான்.

9:2. கீஸுக்கு சவுல் என்ற மகன் இருந்தான். இவன் அழகான இளைஞன். இவனைப்போல் அழகுள்ளவன் யாரும் இல்லை. இஸ்ரவேலில் எல்லோரும் இவன் தோளுக்குக் கீழாயிருக்கத்தக்க உயரம் இருந்தான்.

9:2. He had a son named Saul, a handsome young man. There was no one among the Israelites more handsome than he was; he stood head and shoulders above all the people.

9:2. His son Saul was the most handsome man in Israel-- head and shoulders taller than anyone else in the land.
