2:12. நாம் அவபக்தியையும் லெளகிக இச்சைகளையும் வெறுத்து, தெளிந்த புத்தியும் நீதியும் தேவபக்தியும் உள்ளவர்களாய் இவ்வுலகத்திலே ஜீவனம்பண்ணி,

2:12. தேவனுக்கு எதிராக வாழாமல் இருக்கவும், உலகம் விரும்புகிற தீய காரியங்களைச் செய்யாமல் இருக்கவும் அக்கருணை ஞானத்தையும், நீதியையும் போதிக்கிறது. தேவ பக்தியும் உடையவர்களாக இவ்வுலகில் வாழ அது கற்றுத்தருகிறது.

2:12. It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,

2:12. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God,
