21:16. தகப்பன் தனக்கு உண்டான ஆஸ்தியைத் தன் பிள்ளைகளுக்குப் பங்கிடும் நாளில், வெறுக்கப்பட்டவளிடத்தில் பிறந்த முதற்பேறானவனுக்கு சேஷ்டபுத்திர சுதந்தரத்தைக் கொடுக்கவேண்டுமேயல்லாமல், விரும்பப்பட்டவளிடத்தில் பிறந்தவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கலாகாது.

21:16. தந்தையானவன் தனது சொத்தினை தன் பிள்ளைகளுக்குப் பங்கிடும் நாளில் தான் நேசிக்காமல் வெறுக்கிற மனைவியிடத்தில் பிறந்த முதல் பிள்ளைக்கு சேஷ்ட புத்திர சுதந்திரத்தைக் கொடுக்க வேண்டுமே தவிர தான் விரும்பும் மனைவியிடத்தில் பிறந்த குழந்தைக்குக் கொடுக்ககூடாது.

21:16. In the day he divides his inheritance he must not appoint as firstborn the son of the favorite wife in place of the other wife's son who is actually the firstborn.

21:16. When the man divides his inheritance, he may not give the larger inheritance to his younger son, the son of the wife he loves, as if he were the firstborn son.

21:16. then it shall be, in the day that he causeth his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved the first-born before the son of the hated, who is the first-born:

21:16. then on the day when he assigns his possessions as an inheritance to his sons, he may not treat the son of the loved as the firstborn in preference to the son of the unloved, who is the firstborn,

21:16. Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit [that] which he hath, [that] he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, [which is indeed] the firstborn:
