7:5. இதிலே ஒரு அடி நிலத்தையாகிலும் அவனுடைய கையாட்சிக்குக் கொடாமலிருக்கையில், அவனுக்குப் பிள்ளையில்லாதிருக்கும்போது: உனக்கும் உனக்குப் பின்வரும் உன் சந்ததிக்கும் இதைச் சுதந்தரமாகத் தருவேன் என்று அவனுக்கு வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணினார்.

7:5. ஆனால் தேவன் ஆபிரகாமுக்கு இந்த நாட்டில் எதையும் கொடுக்கவில்லை. ஒரு அடி நிலம் கூடக் கொடுக்கவில்லை. ஆனால் ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் அவர் குழந்தைகளுக்கும் எதிர் காலத்தில் இந்நாட்டைக் கொடுப்பதாக தேவன் வாக்களித்தார். (ஆபிரகாமுக்குக் குழந்தை இல்லாதிருந்தபோது இது நடந்தது)

7:5. He did not give any of it to him for an inheritance, not even a foot of ground, yet God promised to give it to him as his possession, and to his descendants after him, even though Abraham as yet had no child.

7:5. "But God gave him no inheritance here, not even one square foot of land. God did promise, however, that eventually the whole land would belong to Abraham and his descendants-- even though he had no children yet.
