3:4. அதற்கு நிக்கொதேமு: ஒரு மனுஷன் முதிர்வயதாயிருக்கையில் எப்படிப் பிறப்பான்? அவன் தன் தாயின் கர்ப்பத்தில் இரண்டாந்தரம் பிரவேசித்துப் பிறக்கக்கூடுமோ என்றான்.

3:4. அதற்கு நிக்கொதேமு ஆனால் ஒரு மனிதன் ஏற்கெனவே முதியவனாக இருந்தால் அவன் எப்படி மீண்டும் பிறக்கமுடியும்? ஒருவன் மீண்டும் தாயின் சரீரத்திற்குள் நுழையமுடியாது. ஆகையால் ஒருவன் இரண்டாம் முறையாக பிறக்க முடியாதே என்றான்.

3:4. Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter his mother's womb and be born a second time, can he?"

3:4. "What do you mean?" exclaimed Nicodemus. "How can an old man go back into his mother's womb and be born again?"

3:4. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter a second time into his mothers womb, and be born?
