18:23. இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி: நான் தகாதவிதமாய்ப் பேசினதுண்டானால், தகாததை ஒப்புவி; நான் தகுதியாய்ப் பேசினேனேயாகில், என்னை ஏன் அடிக்கிறாய் என்றார்.

18:23. அதற்கு இயேசு, நான் ஏதாவது தப்பாகப் பேசியிருந்தால் எது தப்பு என்று இங்கு இருக்கிற எல்லாருக்கும் சொல். ஆனால் நான் சொன்னவை சரி என்றால் பிறகு ஏன் என்னை அடிக்கிறாய்? என்று கேட்டார்.

18:23. Jesus replied, "If I have said something wrong, confirm what is wrong. But if I spoke correctly, why strike me?"

18:23. Jesus replied, "If I said anything wrong, you must prove it. But if I'm speaking the truth, why are you beating me?"

18:23. Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
