23:41. நாமோ நியாயப்படி தண்டிக்கப்படுகிறோம்; நாம் நடப்பித்தவைகளுக்குத் தக்க பலனை அடைகிறோம்; இவரோ தகாததொன்றையும் நடப்பிக்கவில்லையே என்று அவனைக் கடிந்துகொண்டு,

23:41. நீயும், நானும் குற்றவாளிகள். நாம் செய்த குற்றங்களுக்கான விலையைக் கொடுக்க வேண்டியிருப்பதால் நீயும் நானும் கொல்லப்பட வேண்டியவர்கள். ஆனால் இம்மனிதரோ (இயேசு) எந்தத் தவறும் செய்ததில்லை என்றான்.
