4:18. வசனத்தைக் கேட்டும், உலகக்கவலைகளும், ஐசுவரியத்தின் மயக்கமும், மற்றவைகளைப்பற்றி உண்டாகிற இச்சைகளும் உட்பிரவேசித்து, வசனத்தை நெருக்கிப்போட, அதினால் பலனற்றுப்போகிறார்கள்.

4:18. இன்னும் சிலரோ, முட்செடிகளில் விழுந்த விதைகளைப் போன்று போதனையைக் கேட்டுக் கொள்கின்றனர்.
