4:17. தங்களுக்குள்ளே வேர்கொள்ளாதபடியால், கொஞ்சக்காலமாத்திரம் நிலைத்திருக்கிறார்கள், வசனத்தினிமித்தம் உபத்திரவமும் துன்பமும் உண்டானவுடனே இடறலடைகிறார்கள்; இவர்களே கற்பாறை நிலத்தில் விதைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள்.

4:17. ஆனால் அவர்கள் அப்போதனைகள் அவர்களது வாழ்வில் ஆழமாகச் செல்ல அனுமதிக்கமாட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் அவற்றைக் கொஞ்சகாலமே வைத்திருப்பர். ஆனால் அந்தப் போதனையை ஏற்றதால் கஷ்டமோ, பிறர் மூலம் துன்பமோ வரும்போது அவர்கள் அவற்றை உடனே கைவிட்டு விடுவர்.
