15:6. காவல்பண்ணப்பட்டவர்களில் எவனை விடுதலையாக்க வேண்டுமென்று ஜனங்கள் கேட்டுக்கொள்ளுவார்களோ, அவனை அவர்களுக்காக விடுதலையாக்குவது பண்டிகைதோறும் பிலாத்துவுக்கு வழக்கமாயிருந்தது.

15:6. ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் பஸ்கா பண்டிகையின் போது சிறையில் இருந்து ஒருவனை ஆளுநர் விடுதலை செய்யும் அதிகாரம் பெற்றிருந்தார். மக்கள் விரும்புகின்றவனையே அவர் விடுதலை செய்ய முடியும்.

15:6. During the feast it was customary to release one prisoner to the people, whomever they requested.

15:6. Now it was the governor's custom each year during the Passover celebration to release one prisoner-- anyone the people requested.
