14:3. ஏரோது தன் சகோதரனாகிய பிலிப்புவின் மனைவி ஏரோதியாளினிமித்தம் யோவானைப் பிடித்துக் கட்டிக் காவலில் வைத்திருந்தான்.

14:3. இதற்கு முன்னர், ஏரோது யோவானைக் கைது செய்திருந்தான். ஏரோது யோவானைச் சங்கிலியால் கட்டி சிறையிலிட்டிருந்தான். ஏரோதியாளின் நிமித்தம் யோவானை ஏரோது கைது செய்திருந்தான். ஏரோதுவின் சகோதரன் பிலிப்புவின் மனைவி ஏரோதியாள்.

14:3. For Herod had arrested John, bound him, and put him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife,
