6:2. நீ இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரோடே சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: புருஷனாகிலும் ஸ்திரீயாகிலும் கர்த்தருக்கென்று விரதம் பண்ணிக்கொண்டவர்களாயிருக்கும்படி நசரேய விரதமாகிய ஒரு விசேஷித்த பொருத்தனையைப்பண்ணினால்,

6:2. "இவற்றை இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களிடம் கூறு. ஒரு ஆணோ அல்லது பெண்ணோ தன் ஜனங்களிடமிருந்து தனியே பிரிந்து வாழ வேண்டும் என்று விரும்பலாம். இந்த விரதகாலம் ஒருவன் தன்னையே முழுக்க கர்த்தருக்கு சில காலம் ஒப்படைத்துக் கொள்ள அனுமதிக்கிறது. இத்தகையவனை ‘நசரேயன்’ என அழைப்பார்கள்.

6:2. "Speak to the Israelites, and tell them, 'When either a man or a woman takes a special vow, to take a vow as a Nazirite, to separate himself to the LORD,

6:2. "If any of the people, either men or women, take the special vow of a Nazirite, setting themselves apart to the LORD in a special way,
