20:8. அவர்களோ, என் சொல்லைக் கேட்கமனதில்லாமல் எனக்கு விரோதமாய் இரண்டகம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவரவர் தங்கள் கண்களால் நோக்கின அருவருப்புகளைத் தள்ளிப்போடாமலும், எகிப்தின் நரகலான விக்கிரகங்களை விடாமலும் இருந்தார்கள்; ஆதலால் எகிப்துதேசத்தின் நடுவிலே என் கோபத்தை அவர்களிலே தீர்த்துக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு என் உக்கிரத்தை அவர்கள்மேல் ஊற்றுவேன் என்றேன்.

20:8. ஆனால் அவர்கள் எனக்கு எதிராகத் திரும்பி என் சொல்லைக் கேட்க மறுத்துவிட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் தம் அருவருப்பான விக்கிரகங்களை எறியவில்லை. ஆனால் அவர்கள் எகிப்தியரின் அந்த ஆபாசமான சிலைகளை விடவில்லை. எனவே நான் (தேவன்) எகிப்தில் அவர்களையும் அழித்திட முடிவு செய்தேன். எனது கோபத்தின் முழு சக்தியையும் அவர்கள் உணருமாறுச் செய்தேன்.

20:8. But they rebelled against me, and refused to listen to me; no one got rid of their detestable idols, nor did they abandon the idols of Egypt. Then I decided to pour out my rage on them and fully vent my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

20:8. "But they rebelled against me and would not listen. They did not get rid of the vile images they were obsessed with, or forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I threatened to pour out my fury on them to satisfy my anger while they were still in Egypt.

20:8. But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me; they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

20:8. But they rebelled against me and were not willing to listen to me. None of them cast away the detestable things their eyes feasted on, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. "Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them and spend my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

And -- they rebel against Me, And have not been willing to hearken to Me, Each, the detestable things of their eyes, They have not cast away, And the idols of Egypt have not forsaken, And I say -- to pour out My fury on them, To complete Mine anger against them, In the midst of the land of Egypt.

20:8. But they turned against me and refused to listen to me. They did not throw away their horrible idols. They did not leave their filthy statues in Egypt. So I decided to destroy them in Egypt—to let them feel the full force of my anger.
