15:10. என் தாயே, தேசத்துக்கெல்லாம் வழக்குக்கும் வாதுக்கும் உள்ளானவனாயிருக்கும்படி என்னை நீ பெற்றாயே; ஐயோ! நான் அவர்களுக்கு வட்டிக்குக் கொடுத்ததுமில்லை, அவர்கள் எனக்கு வட்டிக்குக் கொடுத்ததுமில்லை; ஆனாலும், எல்லாரும் என்னைச் சபிக்கிறார்கள்.

15:10. தாயே! நீ எனக்கு பிறப்பைக் கொடுத்ததற்காக நான் (எரேமியா) வருந்துகிறேன். தேசத்துக்கெல்லாம் வாதும் வழக்கும் உள்ளவனாக நான் இருக்கிறேன். நான் கடன் கொடுத்ததுமில்லை, கடன் வாங்கியதுமில்லை. ஆனால் ஒவ்வொருவனும் என்னை சபிக்கிறான்.

15:10. I said, "Oh, mother, how I regret that you ever gave birth to me! I am always starting arguments and quarrels with the people of this land. I have not lent money to anyone and I have not borrowed from anyone. Yet all of these people are treating me with contempt."

15:10. Then I said, "What sorrow is mine, my mother. Oh, that I had died at birth! I am hated everywhere I go. I am neither a lender who threatens to foreclose nor a borrower who refuses to pay-- yet they all curse me."

15:10. Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not lent, neither have men lent to me; yet every one of them doth curse me.

15:10. Woe is me, my mother, that you bore me, a man of strife and contention to the whole land! I have not lent, nor have I borrowed, yet all of them curse me.

15:10. Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; [yet] every one of them doth curse me.

15:10. Mother, I am sorry that you gave birth to me. I am the one who must accuse and criticize the whole land. I have not loaned or borrowed anything, but everyone curses me.
