23:4. சீதோனே, வெட்கப்படு; நான் இனிக் கர்ப்பவேதனைப்படுகிறதும் இல்லை; பெறுகிறதும் இல்லை; இளைஞரை வளர்க்கிறதும் இல்லை; கன்னிகைகளை ஆதரிக்கிறதும் இல்லை என்று சமுத்திரக் கோட்டையான கடல்துறை சொல்லுகிறது.

23:4. சீதோனே, நீ மிகவும் துக்கமாக இருக்க வேண்டும். ஏனென்றால், இப்போது கடலும் கடற்கோட்டையும் கூறுகிறது: எனக்குப் பிள்ளைகள் இல்லை. நான் பிள்ளைப் பேற்றின் வலியை உணர்ந்திருக்கவில்லை. நான் பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டதில்லை. இளம் ஆண்களையும், பெண்களையும் நான் வளர்த்திருக்கவில்லை.

23:4. Be ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea says this, O fortress of the sea: "I have not gone into labor or given birth; I have not raised young men or brought up young women."

23:4. But now you are put to shame, city of Sidon, for Tyre, the fortress of the sea, says, "Now I am childless; I have no sons or daughters."

23:4. Be thou ashamed, O Sidon; for the sea hath spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying, I have not travailed, nor brought forth, neither have I nourished young men, nor brought up virgins.

23:4. Be ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea has spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying: "I have neither labored nor given birth, I have neither reared young men nor brought up young women."

23:4. Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, [even] the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, [nor] bring up virgins.

23:4. Be ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea has spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying: "I have neither travailed nor given birth, I have neither reared young men nor brought up virgins."

23:4. Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, the strong hold of the sea; saying, I have not travailed, nor brought forth, neither have I nourished young men, nor brought up virgins.

23:4. Be ashamed, O Zidon; for the sea spake, The strength of the sea, saying: `I have not been pained, nor have I brought forth, Nor have I nourished young men, [nor] brought up virgins.`

23:4. Sidon, you should be very sad, because now the Sea and the Fort of the Sea say, "I have no children. I have never felt the pain of birth; I have never given birth to children. I have never raised young men and women."
