5:6. உன் மாம்சத்தைப் பாவத்துக்குள்ளாக்க உன் வாய்க்கு இடங்கொடாதே; அது புத்திபிசகினால் செய்தது என்று தூதனுக்குமுன் சொல்லாதே; தேவன் உன் வார்த்தைகளினாலே கோபங்கொண்டு, உன் கைகளின் கிரியையை அழிப்பானேன்?

5:6. எனவே உனக்குப் பாவம் ஏற்படும்படி நீ வார்த்தைகளைப் பயன்படுத்தாதே. "நான் சொன்னதை அந்த அர்த்தத்துடன் சொல்லவில்லை" என்று ஆசாரியனிடம் சொல்லாதே. இவ்வாறு நீ செய்தால், தேவன் உன் வார்த்தைகளால் கோபங்கொண்டு, நீ செய்த வேலைகளை எல்லாம் அழித்துவிடுவார்.

5:6. Do not let your mouth cause you to sin, and do not tell the priest, "It was a mistake!" Why make God angry at you so that he would destroy the work of your hands?"

5:6. Don't let your mouth make you sin. And don't defend yourself by telling the Temple messenger that the promise you made was a mistake. That would make God angry, and he might wipe out everything you have achieved.

5:6. Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that is was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thy hands?
