35:3. நான் பாவியாயிராததினால் எனக்குப் பிரயோஜனமென்ன? பலன் என்ன? என்று சொன்னீர்.

35:3. யோபுவே, நீ தேவனை, ‘ஒருவன் தேவனைச் சந்தோஷப்படுத்த விரும்பினால் அவனுக்கு லாபம் என்ன? நான் பாவம் செய்யாதிருந்தால், அது எனக்கு என்ன நம்மையைத் தரும்?’ என்று கேளும்.

35:3. But you say, 'What will it profit you,' and, 'What do I gain by not sinning?'

35:3. For you also ask, 'What's in it for me? What's the use of living a righteous life?'

35:3. That thou sayest, What advantage will it be unto thee? And, What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned?

35:3. that you ask, 'What advantage have I? How am I better off than if I had sinned?'

35:3. For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? [and,] What profit shall I have, [if I be cleansed] from my sin?
