9:4. மொர்தெகாய் ராஜாவின் அரமனையில் பெரியவனாயிருந்தான்; அவனுடைய கீர்த்தி எல்லா நாடுகளிலும் பிரசித்தமாயிற்று; இந்த மொர்தெகாய் என்பவன் மேன்மேலும் பெரியவனானான்.

9:4. அரசனது அரண்மனையில் மொர்தெகாய் மிக முக்கியமான நபராகிவிட்டான். அரசனது மாகாணங்களிலுள்ள அனை வரும் அவனது பெயரையும், அவன் எவ்வளவு முக்கியமானவன் என்பதையும் அறிந்திருந்தனர். மொர்தெகாய் மேலும் மேலும் அதிகாரம் உள்ளவன் ஆனான்.
