28. அப்பொழுது ஏபேதின் குமாரனாகிய காகால்: அபிமெலேக்கு யார்? சீகேம் யார்? நாம் அவனைச் சேவிக்கவேண்டியதென்ன? அவன் யெருபாகாலின் மகன் அல்லவா? சேபூல் அவனுடைய காரியக்காரன் அல்லவா? சீகேமின் தகப்பனாகிய ஏமோரின் மனுஷரையே சேவியுங்கள்; அவனை நாங்கள் சேவிப்பானேன்?

28. ஏபேதின் மகனாகிய காகால், "நாம் சீகேமின் மனிதர்கள். நாம் ஏன் அபிமெலேக்கிற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிய வேண்டும்? அவன் தன்னை யாரென்று நினைத்திருக்கிறான்? அபிமெலேக்கு, யெருபாகாலின் மகன்களில் ஒருவன் மாத்திரமே. மேலும் அவன் சேபூலைத் தனது அதிகாரியாக நியமித்தானே நாம் அபிமெலேக்கிற்குக் கீழ்ப்படியக்கூடாது. ஏமோரின் ஜனங்களே, நாம் நமது ஜனங்களையே பின்பற்ற வேண்டும்.
