15. பிறகு கரேயாவின் மகனான யோகனான் மிஸ்பாவில் கெதலியாவிடம் தனியாகப் பேசினான். யோகனான் கெதலியாவிடம், "நான் போய் நெத்தானியாவின் மகனாகிய இஸ்மவேலைக் கொல்லட்டுமா? இதைப்பற்றி எவரும் அறிந்துக் கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள். இஸ்மவேல் உன்னைக் கொல்லும்படி விடக்கூடாது. அது மீண்டும் உன்னைச் சுற்றியுள்ள அனைத்து யூதா ஜனங்களையும் பல்வேறு நாடுகளுக்குச் சிதறும்படிச் செய்யும். அதாவது யூதாவின் சில மீந்தவர்களும் அழியும்படி நேரும்" என்றான்.
